Of course you want to organize an event as sustainable as possible. By using the solution that AirQon offers, supplying power from electric cars, you can achieve this. This way we can minimize the number of diesel generators and make the air cleaner. You do something for all of us, because our climate, our own environment improves. Your visitors breathe cleaner air. It also yields a lot for yourself. Your event will be more attractive to your attendees. And because your event causes less inconvenience, you will receive a permit quickly.
What benefits does it provide?
Besides the fact that your event becomes more sustainable, you can also save costs. Electricity from a diesel generator quickly costs 1 euro per kWh. By participating in AirQon you can save up to 50 cents per kWh. AirQon uses smart bi-directional technology. An inverter is used in combination with a buffer battery to (dis)charge the cars. When the buffer battery is about to run out, we refill it from the cars. This buffer also ensures that power can be supplied constantly, so there is always certainty. The power never fails.
What are the disadvantages?
Of course it will take you some time. You must reserve a parking space. You have to inform the visitors. You have to direct the cars to the right place. This kind of things. We have already done a lot, so we can help you very well. You can leave the connection of the cars and the entire technology behind it to us with peace of mind or we will arrange it with the party that will arrange all the power supplies for you anyway.
Why should you participate?
• determine energy demand: required power and when needed • determine demand: when and how much • at ticket sales: how do you invite the car drivers • during the festival: receiving vehicles, testing and docking • organize logistics during the festival • determine your incentive • on departure: disconnecting and providing incentive • keep in touch with your “electricity suppliers”, they are your ambassadors
How do I determine how much power I need?
If the nature and size of the event are known, the number of cars required for the power supply can be calculated using the website www.carculator.nl. On the basis of a number of parameters and for defined, common, power users per type of event, you can quickly and easily select the correct data for the calculation. The system then calculates the maximum power consumption (peak) and total energy requirement (kWh). By comparing these values with the capacity of the suitable and available electric cars, the car calculator gives the number of cars required for your event.

Which cars are suitable for AirQon?
A car must be able to supply electricity in order to be suitable for AirQon. Cars equipped with a so-called ChaDeMo plug can do this: all Nissan Leafs, the Nissan e-NV200, the Nissan Evalia, the Mitsubishi Outlander and iMiev. The Honda-e and some specially prepared Renault Zoe’s are also able to supply power, but these cars use a different charging protocol and are therefore not yet suitable for AirQon. Various car manufacturers are now conducting tests with bi-directional charging. It is expected that many cars will be suitable from 2025. Soon there will even be electric cars on the market that can also generate power themselves and then supply it: the Sion from Sono Motors and the Lightyear One.
Which companies / lease
companies are already
participating?
Buurauto, MyWheels and Mijndomein Auto have already given permission to use their cars for AirQon. Especially because they think AirQon is a good project that makes festivals and events more sustainable. More soon, look for the latest state of affairs on the AirQon website
How do I tell my visitors?
AirQon has a PR toolkit available. This contains materials, examples of flyers and the like that you are free to use for information to your visitors. Add information to the ticket for the event about the route to the parking lot for the electric cars, for example on the back or via an attachment. Also give a brief explanation about AirQon and what happens to the cars.
How do I reward my visitors?
In order to use the power from the cars, the cars must be able to get close to the site. Make a special parking space for this. Visitors who participate in AirQon can park here for free. This already offers them many advantages. In addition to the parking benefit, you can of course also reward visitors by offering them a drink, a look behind the scenes or a nice souvenir.
How do I handle the cars?
Give the electric cars a separate place. Sufficiently close to the site to be able to provide the power supply. Provide supervision, parking attendants, good key management and, if necessary, valet parking facilities. AirQon or a specialized technical company takes care of connecting the cars. Instruct the traffic controllers and parking attendants. They guide drivers of an electric car to their parking space. When the visitor leaves, inspect the car, check his identity, let the technical manager release the car and then return the key to the driver.
What will happen to the
batteries?
During the festival, the batteries of the cars are partially discharged. The power fromthe battery can be used for cooling drinks, lighting, a limited sound system, an air castle, charging electric bicycles, etc. All kinds of things for which a diesel generator is normally used. For all this, AirQon uses smart bi-directional technology. An inverter is used in combination with a buffer battery for discharging. This buffer ensures that power can be supplied constantly, so there is always certainty. The power never fails. This also makes it possible to swap cars with another car or to top up a car if necessary. Thus, the power supply is guaranteed.
What if something goes wrong?
AirQon provides suitable additional insurance for the car. If something does go wrong, because an accident often happens in a small corner, then any damage to the cars is well insured.

What happens after the festival ends?
Keep in touch with your ‘electricity suppliers’, the visitors who came with their electric car, they are your ambassadors. They can tell first-hand about the positive experiences and convey this to others. AirQon facilitates this through its own AirQon community. You can easily reach your ambassadors through this community.
